The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC

Erik was finally allowed to take some time off at work, so we decided to celebrate and go check out the Asheville area! First stop, the largest privately owned house in the US: The Biltmore Estate!

Here is the view as we are walking up to the Biltmore... it is just massive. You can't even see the people standing by the house, but they are there! The mountains in the background are beautiful too!

Erik is getting ready to tackle the 250-room mansion and 80 acres of land! We weren't allowed to take any pictures inside the house... but the outside scenery was also very picture worthy!

George Vanderbilt (owner of the Biltmore) and his family/friends got to wake up to this view every day!

A back view of the Biltmore.

We visited the Biltmore during the Festival of Flowers and the gardens went on forever! The grounds in general were just amazing and so beautiful to see.

This was a random tree kind of placed by itself... but I thought it was so odd that it had hundreds of little "mini stumps" surrounding it. Apparently I thought this was blog-worthy : )

No big deal... George Vanderbilt had his own lake. It was big too!

There were so many different types of flowers and trees, but we really loved these bamboo-type plants everywhere.

SO PRETTY SO PRETTY SO PRETTY! i love tulips and there were plenty in the gardens!

So fun to read about the warm fun you get to have! I would like to make a reservation for the Biltmore next winter and was wondering if there would be room for Dana as well? This Minnesota stuff hasn't been too nice to us yet....keep waiting. Ty has had the convertable top down a couple of times though. Has to text me at work to rub it in. Hope all is still warm and fun! Enjoy, I want to sweat so bad! Did you get any smoke from the fires your way? We don't Char to be Chard!(ok, that was bad)Love you, Miss you. Can't wait to see Florance!
